Childhood in Mexico

All of Rosa’s childhood memories are from Mexico. Although she left Mexico at a young age she still remembers all the fun times that she had there.

 

Segment 2
Not understanding the Language

When Rosa first started school in the United States she didn’t understand anything, because she didn’t understand the language.

After High School

After she finished high school Rosa went to Mexico for some months to take care of her sick Aunt.

When Rosa retires her husband and herself plan to build a house in Mexico where they can go and live.

The Bracero Program (180 KB)
Rosa’s father Antonio Palafox came to the United States through the bracero program. The bracero program allowed Mexican citizens to come to the United States to work while the U.S. was at war.

Her Culture

Rosa is very proud of her culture and that is something that she will never forget. Although the United States is where she is now, her heart is always in Mexico.
